At QES, we follow a Reading & Writing Workshop approach to teaching ELA which are based off of the teaching philiosphy and practices of the Teacher's College Reading and Writing Project by Lucy Calkins.  Click here for more information.

The workshops allow children to:

• read more books

• receive direct instruction at his/her reading level

• read for longer peiods of time

• focus on strategies and skills specific to their needs

• focus on strategies to improve written expression
